Well, we had another magnificent night tonight at Tenx9. Our theme was 'Bodies' (suggested by Jenn Clark - thanks Jenn), and we had stories from Róisín, Caroline, Heather, Emma, Nuala, Chelley, Jason, Robert and Áine. We heard stories about Lenny the Lanyard (yes, you should go there), Tom the teenaged surgeon, Willy watching in the showers, learning to love your body, learning to listen to your body, daring to draw your body, cancer in the body, skinny dipping at a Kenyan beach, the body that defies you and the odd story of a boy who wanted to be an osprey.
We are continually delighted to welcome you to the Black Box - many thanks to the storytellers, the listeners, the delicious staff at the Black Box.
Our theme for next month's Tenx9 is "Show and Tell". For our Show and Tell night, we want you to bring an item, and tell the story about it. It may be that ingrown toenail that you had mounted in a velvet box; it may be that silly trinket from the holiday that changed your life; it may be the urn that contains the ashes from your pet budgerigar; or it may be the favourite pair of shoes that you can never throw out. We all have items that have stories and stories behind them. On June 18, in the Black Box, bring along those items, and tell your story of them.
If you want to tell a story on June 18th, have a read through of our tips for writing and tips for telling a story and then get in touch with us. Ah go on! We'd love to hear from you.
